Neuromuscular and spasticity reconstruction is a highly specialised area of orthopaedics which aims to correct deformity in order to relieve pain and pressure areas, improve transfer abilities, standing tolerance and wheelchair comfort and function, minimise reliance of splints, improve quality of life and reduce carer burden.

SORSC offers a collaborative and holistic service in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team including neurologists, rehabilitation specialists, carers and allied health care providers to treat a wide range of neurological conditions. Treatments offered include botox injections and surgery such as tendon releases and transfers and bony correction and reconstruction.

We treat cavovarus, equinovarus and planovalgus deformities along with foot drop and a number of conditions including Charcot-Marie Tooth (CMT), spinal cord and acquired brain injuries, strokes and Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP).
